  • Orange Alpine 160mm Frame… 170mm Forks? What do you think?

I have bought a 2010 Orange Alpine frame to use as a temporary frame while mine is getting fixed on warranty… Think is my forks from the other frame are some Marzocchi 55r which are 170mm, I am not sure if I can run these on the Alpine as they are or if I should reduce them down to 150mm (which I do not know how to do…)

Anyone else running any big ass forks on an Alpine frame???

A couple of mates run 200mm dual crown forks on theirs, no problems.

The 55’s spacer can be modified to bring it down to 10mm. I simply sawed 10mm out and superglued the remaining ends together.

    Job’s a good un.

But having said that, there’s no reason why an Alpine shouldn’t cope with a 170mm fork?

They’ll be fine at 170mm. A friend has had 170 55RC3s on his 2010 Alpine for a few years without any problems. I prefer them to my 160 36 Rs. And another fried has 180 36 Vans without any problems.

Thanks lads! I’ll bosh em on then! Expect some pics on a baby blue orange alpine with some sexy black marz 55s in the coming days 😉
