    Hi all,

I’m about to do another air can service on my rear shock and was wondering if the main pivot bearing is something that I should be servicing in any way, like taking it out, cleaning and regreasing? I’ve had the bike for nearly 2 years and there’s no noise or movement in the bearing, so nothing needs replacing. Should I just leave it alone, or will a periodic regrease do it good? I’ve never touched pivot bearings before.

    Thanks!

If there’s no movement in the bearing, I should think it does indeed need looking at 😉

    🙂

    TBH

When you have the shock off just check the swingarm for smoothness etc. – job done

Yeah, my question is, as long as it’s smooth with no play, should it just be left alone?

    That’s how I’d treat it
I’m sure you could possibly extend the bearing life by flushing & re-greasing but cartridge bearings are made to be easily replaced so best left till they fail IMO
