  • Open tubulars and going tubeless, anyone?

I’d like to try tubeless on my cx training wheels.
Currently some cheap wtb speed disc i19 wheels wearing challenge baby limus open tubs and latex tubes.
Has anyone tried going tubeless on open tubs?
My concern would be the stans jizz oozing through the tyre fibres.
    Open to thoughts. Ta.

can’t see it being secure on the rims, or retaining any pressure

I think dugast are brining out an tubeless tubular (tubelesslar???) Your open tubular won’t work though.
Out of interest how do you find them? I am considering this set up on mine (open tubular that is).

Hmm those were my concerns. I also thought the bead was loose on the rim.
Tom, I’ve been riding open tubs; velotex master in the summer and challenge parigi-roubaix the last few years on the road. I like them a lot.
I’ve not tried the cx opens yet. Will keep you posted.

I’m using open tubs on my gnarmac bike (Challenge Strada Bianca) and they’re lovely. Really supple feeling tyres. Am pondering a second set of wheels with tubeless CX tyres for more off than on road gnarmac rides.

I tried the Limus on my Stans rims tubeless and the tyre just flies off the rim as soon as you put any sort of air pressure in there.
