We currently have printed newspapers delivered 7 days a week but wish to switch to digital / online subscription to save money, faff, paper and the planet etc. We know nothing about how access / subscription works; i.e how the content reaches a PC / tablet / phone.

Our papers are The Herald Mon-Sat, Guardian on Sat and The Sunday Herald. Looking at their own websites is just confusing.

The Herald has online subscription for multiple devices and a also offers a digital version of the paper. One looks like a purpose made app, the other looks like a broadsheet but with interactive features. Can’t find out how these differ in terms of access, offline reading etc.

The Guardian site doesn’t look like it offers PC access, only tablet / mobile, which seems very odd. Perhaps it is offered by other means?

    Help!

So far as I know, the Guardian site doesn’t charge for access.
I can read it all on my laptop.
The same for the Independent, you just have to put up wit hads (same as with STW)
