    Hi

I have never insured my bikes
They never leave my sight on the trail and have serious locks and shackles and anchors at home
Debatable I know but it works for me

Anyway Im off to PDS and figure now may be the time

Especially as the airlines say they wont pay out if their delightful baggage handlers trash my pride and joy

Holiday insurance isnt going to be any good so what to do?

My current house policy wont take them on abroad but there must be a specialist who would be interested

    Any ideas?

I want 3k of cover against Ryanair trashing or losing it basically
Possibly also theft cover from my hotel room too if its not too much on top
    And for 5 days only

    Cheers

I have always found the best way is to do it through your bank. You can sign up for an account like Barclays additions which will give you year round holiday insurance, and will include bikes etc, however you may need to add it to your policy. You can sign up for the account and then cancel it the next month giving you holiday insurance for around £10.00. Always woked for me.

    Hope this helps

    This is not easy 🙂

I cant find regular travel insurance who will touch an expensive bike

I can get an annual bike policy but they have so many exclusions in particular using approved locks which I am never going to get under my airline baggage allowance and british approved door and window locks which again a hotel abroad wont have plus no cover for theft from car unless thats approved too which a French/Swiss rental car wont be (even though its same as UK market)

    Grrrr

    What do you do?

All I need is protection against Ryanair trashing it on 2 short flights plus 5 days theft insurance from my hotel room (the car cover is a luxury I wont need as it wont really be left there anyway)

You need to make sure YOU are insured, the chances of trashing you are probably higher than trashing/losing the bike… I use Insure and GO for cover on dangerous sports, give them a call and ask about the cover for the bike too.
