Is this calculation right or am i missing something.
Loco si are you about on a very slim off chance. 😀
    Right.
Replaced a 184 x 44 rear with a 190 x 50.Already chucked a 2 degree headset in so not worried about the head angle and BB height as iv’e dropped them to compensate for the shock picking them back up a little. All clearances are fine.
    So with a 184 x 44 the rear travel was 127mm
    Is this calc correct.
    127mm divided 44mm times 50mm gives 144mm ish.Can it be that simple.
    Cheers all.

Frame travel over shock travel gives you the leverage ratio of the frame.

    Yes your calculation is correct.

Not quite that simple, but close enough. If it’s a progressive linkage then you’ll have gained a bit more, if it’s regressive you’ll have gained a bit less.

    Chees lads.
Maesrto on a trance x1 with 140 on the front.
The shock is a new Van RC that was tuned for my five by Si at loco. What he did with it was to tune it for me so it ramps up into the travel.
It might work really well as i know the Meastro needs a progressive shock to work properly. All fitted so will give it a blast tomorrow fingers crossed.
On the other had it might be a bit crap and blow through.
    Hope it works… 😀
