I’m trying to send a common garden Word file in .docx format.
The emails keep getting quarantined with the following message.
I suspect incompetence in the setting up at the BorderWare end of things, but I can never rule out my own operator error.

Overzealous settings / management at their end or is there something really wrong?

This is the error (the names have been changed to protect the innocent)

    TIA

Have you actually done what is requested of you in the above ?

Might that not be your best first option ?

    EDIT:

why are you emailing them, amongst other things, a file called printerSettings1.bin ?

I can’t, that message is for the recipient and she isn’t around today.

Might that not be your best first option ?

    Where’s the fun in that?

why are you emailing them, amongst other things, a file called printsettings.bin ?

I’m not, as far as I know, unless its bundled in with the .docx file.

Anything useful you’d like to add? 😉

Sounds stupid however, can you resave the document as a .doc in word. It seems that the docx is being split up into its individual parts as opposed to the whole document.

Which I guess is a good thing if someone wanted to hide virii in there or similar.

try a .doc if not, Im sure theres a word option to not add the printer settings to the saved file.

Cheers simonb512 – an RTF file has got through OK, .doc is a possibility, but there are some features in a .docx which I would prefer not to lose.

My main issue is the apparently arbitrary application of ‘security’ measures by local authority IT numpties.

Everything was OK last month grrrrr
