Start a new job in a week, and will be commuting about 15 miles each way, previous job that ended 18 months ago meant a 13 mile commute. Been doing 5 miles each way for the last couple of weeks and shocked how unfit I have got!

I am expecting the first few weeks to hurt a bit, anyone able to suggest how long a few weeks is likely to be?

15 miles should be no problem within a week or two. If you’re doing it daily that is.

    you’ll be fine.

I commuted 17 miles each way 5 times a week for a couple of months until i quit my last job. Sure, you feel it the first couple of days, especially after a busy day, but you soon get used to it again.

Within a couple of weeks you’ll be fine. It’s not like you’ve been totally off the bike.

Then again, my commute to work is 3 miles in, 15 miles home. (go the long way home)
