Evening ladies and gents. Just a quick one. I’ve come across a picture and curiosity has gotten the better of me and I would like to know what the animal in question is. Cheers for your help 🙂

    A lesser red-crossed square it would appear…

    EDIT: some sort of lemur?

Looks very like a young lemur. Not the famous running sideways one. Maybe a juvenile indri. Or one of his cousins.

#Edit – the pad like fingers are common in indris but the OP photo’s may be too pronounced for an indri – I never got to see the toddlers.

It’s as sobriety says, a Tarsier. IIRC, it is thought by many that all primates are descended/have evolved from Tarsiers, or very “Tarsier-like” primitive primates.
