Earlier today I bought a new Ti456 and got the smoothie reducer headset fitted to work with ‘normal’ 1/18 forks ([http://www.on-one.co.uk/i/q/HSOOSMTAPER/on-one-smoothie-mixer-tapered-headset).

Can anyone confirm that the big black ring bit that fits into the lower cup replaces the crown race? It looks like it should, but I don’t fancy removing it again in future without gouging the hell out of the forks.

Just got my C456 frame with Smoothie Mixer headset and that doesn’t seem to have a ‘normal’ crown race either..

Just been looking at it again.. and the only way I can see that it could work is as you say – the bottom ring replaces the crown race..
