  • On One Carbon Monocoque 29er fork – a worthwhile upgrade?

Has anyone had any experience with this fork?

I’m thinking for £100 it would be a good way to lose some weight from my ss Inbred. I’d be swapping out a Surly Ogre fork, which has been good but is very heavy (~1.4kg). I could probably get about £50 for the Surly Fork so it’d be relatively cheap to upgrade.

Am I right in thinking you need a carbon fork bung with a carbon steerer tube, not a star fangled nut?

Found mine nice and light, you do need fancy star nut thing. Might be selling mind as consolidating bikes. Let me know if you’re interested.

They are way stiffer than the old style carbon fork (says he having bought a new one then flogged it after one ride, despite 250gm weight!)

fwiw and having had this fork, I think it suits a stiffer frame. I think the exotic fork with alu crown/steerer is a better match.

If you do go for the monocoque, then yes, you need a bung.
