    went to repair a boiler today.. nice chap.. baulked at cost price of parts (£127) plus labour at 65 quid for 90 minutes work and sourcing/collecting the parts..

    Another case of need and want.
    Need the boiler to work but begrudge paying for it, happy to spend on things they want though.
    At least that is my usual findings with customers. Very happy to spend tens of thousands on bathrooms and tiles, but when I suggest they upgrade the plumbing and/or heating as it would be a good time to do it, but it will cost a few thousand then that is too much just to make the water come out of the pipes nice and hot and with good pressure and flow. Not to mention actually making the water drain away too……
