Sure I’ve heard people mention watch servicing on here but wondered if anybody could recommend a reputable company for servicing my Omega Seamaster quartz ? It seems to be losing time of late, think the fingers are sticking at certain points of the day. any help much appreciated 🙂

Second hand stops intermittently instead of going round continually? New battery time.

I had my speedmaster serviced here – http://www.swisstimeservices.co.uk/

It was expensive but mine is an automatic which I guess makes a bit of a difference.

Yes but the quartz ones normally have a function whereby it “4 second sweeps” when the battery is low. Mine sometimes sticks and a gentle tap gets it going again… Had a few of these over the years now and they’ve always been ultra reliable, so this seems strange to me 🙁

Just go to your nearest Omega dealer. They’ll send it back to Omega. They don’t do these things in the shop. I suspect they’ll talk you into a full service. They did with my Breitling. Cost me £375, having said that it was after 12 years of ownership and it came back like new. A bit like triggers broom, they’d replaced the hands, face, bezel and God know what else. Sounds expensive initially, but £375 every 12 years isn’t too bad really.

Chris Heal is definitely worth a try:

You’ll have to apply for a spot at the moment they become available…but this guy comes highly recommended.

He’ll strip it down, clean everything, put it back together again and obviously replace any worn parts. Test.

Plus you’ll get photos of the whole process….it’s lovely to see how your watch is constructed.

If you are in the midlands then there is an Independent watch repairer called Arthur Griffiths jewellers in Cradley Heath.

He’s an elderly gentlemen who has been servicing watches since time immemorial. He has a stash of NOS omega parts and charges £50-100 for a service.
