i may be talking pish here – but – i think i remember hearing that when Manchester velodrome was built they commisioned a second tracks worth of wood which has been stored, if this it true (and it may be bollox) will it be used for the Olympic site velodrome?

If they did set aside extra wood when it was built it's gone now as they resurfaced the track a couple of years ago.

I've not heard anything about it before though. There are only a handful of companies worldwide who can build an Olympic grade velodrome, so it may well be built by the same people anyway.

Remember the splinters from the first build.
