    The gear shifters have a hollow screw to hold the outer steady

    Mine have been ‘misplaced’ and I need something to replace em with

    Any ideas??

    I’m guessing that you mean the barrel adjusters that fit between the shifter and outer cable. Try your LBS, they’ll probably have a box of salvaged parts from scrapped components.They should all be a common thread size, but probably best to take them with you.
