Hi. Does anyone know of a good cause that can use old foreign banknotes? Would they be of interest to collectors? Anything from fifteen to forty years out of date, btw.

Stick them on ebay. Easy to post. Give the profits to charity.

Is it a collection or just a few lying around? Some dealers will buy collections. Ebays not a bad idea either.

I don’t do ebay, thanks, too many stories on here.

    2p
    That much!

5 Pesos from Argentina, ’79, before the insane inflation
    1 Z. from Zaire, 74
Various West African CFAs, before the devaluation

Absolutely lacking in value, and some are probably a health hazard.

It’s just random small notes, not worth changing back at the time, or kept in case of return.

I’ve got £100ish of Tunisian currency from a few years back. It’s a closed currency so you’re not meant to take it out of the country but we forgot about this in the bottom of a bag. Don’t think I can change it back here, keep thinking of posting it to a charity in Tunisia or something but doubt it would make it through.
