    I did the corkscrew at the forest of Dean today and some bits were well b@stard steep!
    Really had me twitching.
    Watching some of the videos on YouTube, how can people go down that trail, that fast?
    That said, I’m off for a glass of vino.

    don’t worry,you are not alone.when i did the erlestoke 12 hour event,i was getting off and walking bits (because i am rubbish/crap) that everyone else was flying down/up.

    Just watched a couple of utube vids and it looks fun.

    Hardly steep or difficult though…

    Oh dear. I honestly can’t think of a single part of Corkscrew that could be classed as steep. Not meaning to be nasty or anything, but what/where do you usually ride?

    It gets quite steep and rootier after the fire road! The youtube vids make it look shallower than it is.

    I guess it’s just the ‘steepness’ levels you’re used to.
    Have to say that the more really steep difficult stuff I do the higher my confidence levels go up.
    I haven’t done much of that lately until today though

    There are sections at Lecky Hill that are as steep, surely? Saying that, I’ve only been there once, in atrocious weather, a year ago.

    Steep is relative, as is difficult.
