    tbh, I never use google maps on my4 so I would have a 5. I wouldn;t queue though…

About 200 people are reported to be queuing outside the Apple Store in Brighton’s Churchill Square Shopping Centre.

Amateurs. I’m already queuing for the iPhone6.

Apparently it’s gonna be thinner, faster, with better battery life & a better screen.

Whilst its easy to Mock the iPhone fans, it is a sad reflection on our consumerist society.
Im guilty of it too, lusting after nice things, but I don’t think I’d ever queue for something like that, even if i could afford it.
Seems so sad that people are dying, whilst others squander money that could be put to so much better use.

People queue for all sorts of electronic gizmos specially games and consoles, seems harmless to me.

    Harmless, but rather sad.

Quite funny – a bunch of middle aged guys who spend thousands on specialist bicycles (which are then ridden gently around trail centres) ridiculing a bunch of nobodies for lusting after a phone (and then highlighting how it is indicative of the sorry state of our consumer society) 🙂

Never understood this. I honestly can’t imagine anything (including bikes) that I’d queue up to pay full price for when I could just wait a few days and buy one normally.

If they were giving them away at half price or something then maybe.

Yep. See also games consoles and even just some games.

The little video on that australian link – the guy “I’m so happy…” 😯

Although the guy sponsored by sports bet had the right idea. They paid him to stand their advertising their company, bought him food and drink and his new phone.

    Speak for yourselve matey.
From what I can gather you’re not short of a bob or two and didnt you buy a reasonably expensive first car?

Think you missed my point matey.

I’m not ridiculing people buying iphones or whinging about the state of society whilst simultaneously spending money on bicycles.

What does my bank balance have to do with anything?

Also, what does my first car have to do with anything?

    Bizzare.

Sorry about the money thing, that was just me being cranky.
You made a valid point about people spending money on things they dont really need, when you appear to be doing similar.

My point was that it’s slightly hypocritical for a bunch of people who spend a relatively large sum on a bicycle to throw stones at people for spending a relatively large sum on a telephone. They lust over phones, we lust over bike stuff. There’s not a huge difference, they probably can’t understand why people get so excited about a rear mech 🙂

Fair enough if everyone was riding around on Argos specials, but I doubt many of us are.

I’m not going to deny I spend money (hell, I’m not working so that I can give it to the bank!), I’m just more surprised by the line being drawn between what it is OK to spend money on and what is not.

I’m going to queue up outside my house for the courier that’ll be turning up in about an hour with mine…
