don’t want to drop onto the canal if possible, but cant seem to link anything together.

Over Ilkley moor then down Baildon moor going east (north of Baildon village) over and down to Esholt woods then take the bridleway to Calverley then either canal or pick your way through Calverley Bramley & Kirkstall woods and paths.

Yep, or North Leeds option might be something like: Ilkley Moor, down into Menston, then onto Otley Chevin, Golden Acre Park, Then pick up the Meanwood Valley Trail into town, or Eccup, Harewood, Wyke, Shadwell, Roundhay Park after Golden Acre.
