Bit of a random post – having just renewed my admiral multicar policy I thought I would share a money saving tip as I just saved £215 on my renewal:

    1) Once you have your renewal notice through the post perform an a new online quotation (you need to do this in the name of one of the other vehicle owner’s names not the currrent policy holder’s name as their database will flag that you already have a policy)

    2) Tap in all the details like for like, watch the policy price decrease

    3) Ring up their renewals department, tell them what you’ve done and they will adjust your renewal accordingly.

    Car insurance… what a racket!

This works for most insurers actually.

What you should never do is quote Admiral the price for a new policy on their website, get them to match it and then realise the price on the website is for 10 months not the 12 you have just renewed for…

What worked for me was changing to 2 different insurers…

Admiral were insuring 3 cars for us for £800 last year and quoted us £1300 this year, they were willing to come down to 1200 with argument. I’m now paying a total of £800 for the three insured with better cover via 2 different individual insurers…
