  • Octalink BB – do you add spacers?

    Might be having a very dim moment here… I thought octalink BB’s just went straight into the correct shell size?

    I’ve got a 73mm octalink BB to go into a 73mm BB shell. NDS plastic cup goes in fine but DS won’t go home, it’s sticking about 2mm out… should I have a spacer on the DS like I would with an external BB? Old BB was HT2 but i’m putting an old set of octalink cranks on.

    No. Screw in the DS first, usually OK if the NDS sticks out a bit.

    Bingo, dim moment over. Backed the NDS off a bit and DS home fine now. Cheers Al
