On one visit to the USS Arizona memorial a few years ago, we joined the long queue, made up as usual of a mix of nationalities, for the tickets for the film and boats, Got near the front, behind half a dozen Japanese, and we were promptly shunted in front of them by a volunteer.
I’m sure there was perfectly innocent explanation, but considering the location it was a bit disturbing.

This could have meant he saw them as indecisive, or loud, or tourists? Or or…
All I am saying is everyone, it might not be a race issue.
Exactly right, which is why I don’t want to name and shame. I perceived it initially as being a race issue but on reflection he could have been indicating anything at all. But still didn’t excuse his behaviour towards them.
sounds like he was shocked that you said something, and just said the first thing that came into his head. either way he shouldn’t be dealing with the public, and because you witnessed his behavior you should inform his boss, and name and shame. please.
