When putting on anew spring it says about not doing the collar up to tight when pre loading the spring. When does tightening up stop and pre loading start?
is it when the spring does not rattle/collar starts to bite?

i think, and i'm sure i read this on TF tuning that you shouldnt have more than three full turns on. more than that and you need a heavier spring.

when i got my dhx mojo said one full turn when the coller touch's the spring to start with and two full turns from there to set sag, any more than two turns and you need the next spring up, allthough i think you can get away with another turn or so

I think 2.5 turns is about what you should have as a max. Any more and you need a diff spring. Hi Rob btw!
