Honest question: what happens with speaker docks for HTC/Android phones? A trip to any electrical department these days will reveal tons of different docks for iPhone/Pods. Are they compatible with HTC phones too?

When my x10 went back to be repaired, the old nokia just felt great for the basics. Dedicated call/end buttons, less finger movement, being able to text without looking at the phone...but obviously web browsing was horrible.
I can't text without looking at the keys anyway. I send about 20-30 texts a month, and I'm a lot faster in my iPhone than I ever was on a normal phone. And the predictive typing and spell checker is superb!
You haven't seen how filthy I am
So you'd rather have the filth stuck between the keys where you can't get to clean it than on a nice wipe-clean smooth surface? Odd......

So I see nobody can tell me why me 3G is not much good as a phone yet then?
I didn't realise you were serious!
Depends how you define a phone these days.
If its making calls & text messages, then I suppose it probably is just as good as the new one.
If you consider a phone to be calls, text's, emails(exchange/imap), gmail calendars, facebook, youtube, internet, weather etc then I would think a new one would be better due to the speed & battery.Posted 1 year ago # -

Yes you can use most dock stations with an HTC phone, most docking music player / speakers have a jack port in the back so you just get a double ended lead, one end to your phones earphone socket other into the speakers jack port.

Right... but that's not really going to charge the phone, or provide any track info or control, and it won't look very good either. Are there no proper docks?
Like this kind of thing: http://www.reghardware.com/2010/07/19/ten_essential_premium_ipod_speakers/
I'm surprised someone hasn't done an iPhone to HTC dock converter type gadget.

A lot of those play via 3.5mm, bluetooth, wifi etc which would be fine.
Aside from the novelty of your phone being the GUI on the stereo, wouldn't it be more practical letting it stream over the network or similar? You'll have unlimited space and you can use your phone while listening to music.
Yes, I have 2 Android Phones (and a Spotify premium account which gets used on them most of my waking hours!)

That is a big plus of the iphone - huge range of gadgets.
I'm with you though toasty. Bluetooth receiver on the hifi + spotify = music while browsing.
From what I understand the iphone doesn't have widgets either. They are very useful.

OK your relentless logic has a point on hygeine...I just did more pressing than wiping with my old phone
:/That's another thing - a phone with buttons doesn't behave differently dependent on the stickiness of your fingers.
ANd another thing! Art apps where you paint with your finger? Nice but I stopped doing that when I was bout 3. What do they think we have, invisible fingers?

Not much good when a friend shows up with his phone/pod full of music though. I was just curious anyway. I realised a while ago that while niche is cool, being a sheep often means you get better support and more accessories. (in everything not just phones). The trick is to be the educated sheep

Correct, what do they do? Is it just apps that display on the home screen?
