Up the coast to Port Rush from Larne ,nice drive.
Do the Causeway and the Rope bridge ,then if you have wetsuits there can be some good surfing and body boarding up there

Where you staying Molgrips?

Belfast notably has the Titanic center and the bus/taxi tours are worth a shout of your interested in The Troubles. Outside Belfast, the North Coast has plenty on offer – Giants Causeway/Rope Bridge and stunning scenery. Further south you have the Mournes district, again stunning scenery with plenty of activities available. And of course, our 5 trail centres.

Don’t forget your flak jacket 😉

Only been to Port Stewart and Port Rush area for the NW 200, lovely place friendly people.

I’d be leaving from Cardiff
I’d probably take the caravan but maybe a tent instead, and doing a bit of a tour.
We’d be looking for countryside stuff, mountains, beaches and whatnot, but nothing hardcore cos our kids are only small. They’re too young to appreciate ‘culture’ as such, but a day in town would be ok. Castles etc are also a hit.

Looks like it’d be much easier for us to drive to Holyhead, go to Dublin then drive up North. There’s no point in sticking to political boundaries so we’d probably end up in Eire too, Donegal or Mayo maybe.

How long do you intend to visit for?

Then its around a 1.5 hr drive to the Mourne mountains where you could stop for a few days (beaches, mountains, hiking, biking etc)

You could stay a few days in Portrush or Portstewart for beaches and more traditional seaside stuff. Blairs is a good caravan park
