What are they like in there? Decent, honest bunch? I see their credentials are pretty decent. I’ve not used them yet but I think it might be worth a look in!

I’ve not been in there since 2010, but at the time they were knowledgable and friendly. However, I won’t ever use them again as they charged me £15 for fitting a bottom bracket (I only wanted them to fit it to check the axle was long enough) after I’d spent over £2K with them for frame, forks and said BB.

Good bunch of chaps that know their stuff, proper friendly as well.

Took my bike in for a new set of pivot bearings and they sorted out a loose cassette and adjusted my gears for gratis. Did me a good deal on some new tyres too 🙂

They’re a few spanner monkeys down at the minute though so there’s a bit of a backlog on repairs but still managed to fit me in.

They’re a good bunch, and know their stuff. Used them a lot when they were the nearest shop to work

Be warned: if you go in there, stay focussed!! Theres more blingy bike porn in that shop that any other I’ve ever been in. Chances of you leaving with nothing except what you went in for? Zero, I’m afraid.

Really friendly and know their stuff.
Bit on the expensive side but then they do have some nice kit if you can’t wait for postage from the web.

Took my Nomad for some new bearings and what was meant to be a simple job turned out to be 2 day’s of hell for their mechanic…
One bearing had come apart and had starting eating it’s way through the pivot rod and another had fused into the frame!

Still they persevered and sorted it. Now rides without a 2cm wobble! 🙄

So all in all no complaints. Go in and have a chat. Nothing wrong with that.

Ed, They’d spot a chump like you coming a mile of and take you to the cleaners! Only joking…I bought my Alpine from them and the service was very good.

Good shop, high end stuff , workshop is expensive but know their stuff. Young lads always friendly, owner always been a quiet and stand off ish, but possibly he’s just busy.

I’ll come clean first and state I have a connection with NWMBC through the Bruntwood Park BMX Club, and would say Andy has been a key member getting the club off the ground, the support of the shop has been fantastic, come and join us for a club session on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings, Saturday from end of the month when the gates should be ready.

Disclaimer and sales pitch over. I’ve been a customer for over 7years now, it’s a great shop, staff are great, never felt pressured into buying. Before finding them I was doing my own work on my bikes, but getting the bike from them after a service or having a part fitted feels like having a new bike tuned just for me, I’ve gradually given up on the tools, want to spend more timing riding than fixing and they do all the work on my bikes now.

Also you might bump into Steve Peat, I sat on his V10 last year before it was shipped out to South Africa, awesome 🙂

    In short ‘I likes ’em’.

I tried to buy some Hadley hubs off them last year. It took them 2 days to phone me back to confirm they had them in stock, despite my stressing they were urgent.
I’ve never met anyone so uninterested in making a £400 sale than they were. It didn’t bode well for spares should they be needed so I spent my money elsewhere.
