Any bugs specialists on here?…I’m not arsed about this myself regularly drink from lakes and streams etc when camelback runs dry but mrs V concerned as my kids drink a lot of water, thing is its filtered through our yank fridge freezer so question is how good is the filtration system? will it be bug free or is it still dodgy….if so should I replace the filter?…and what about the ice it’s making at the mo?

Is it mains drinking water that goes into your fridge/freezer?
If so, then it’s been treated – should be no problem.
If it comes from a stream in your back garden then it rather depends on where that stream comes from.

edit – just seen the news story. Buy up your local shop’s supply of bottled water.

Does this apply for the area around Machynlleth – i.e. for Dyfi riders?!!

Ummm…if it was a stream it might be safer at the mo as we are being told to boil water for drinking!

It’s a major news issue here probably less so over the border, maybe something to bear in mind if heading to North Wales this weekend, bring some bottled with you!

Not if past experience is anything to go by. I shall be bringing several litres of finest northumberland water to the Dyfi this weekend i think

Our water is normally some of the best in the UK…taste wise especially!

If your going to Coed Y Brenin you should be okay they have there own borehole. At least I hope the waters okay I drank about 2 litres this morning

I think that was the thought but the water facilities didnt exactly look tip-top, i never read the examiners report tho. Wasnt there a outbreak at another race in wales by contaminated drinking water? a merida maybe?
