A couple weeks ago Colin of flattyresmtbroutes posted up that four of us were going to attempt a North Wales coast to coast ride from Aberystwyth to Prestatyn following this route, hopefully raising some money for charity and at the same time creating a route guide for others to follow in the future.
4 days- 180.4 miles – 29754ft ascent
Day 1: Aberystwyth to Machynlleth
42 miles – 6733ft ascent
(inc. the Syfydryn Trail at Nant-yr-Arian and the Mach 3)
Day 2: Machynlleth to Llangynog
47.5 miles – 8785ft ascent
(inc. the Cli-machx Trail and the Bwlch-y-Groes)
Day 3: Llangynog to Gweryd Lakes
47.9 miles – 7730ft ascent
(inc the Wayfarer and Llandegla Red Route)
Day 4: Gweryd Lakes to Prestatyn
43 miles – 6506ft ascent
(the whole length of the Clwydian Range)

Well we did it last week, somehow we managed to pick probably one of the hottest weeks of the year so far to do it, but despite that we had great fun, rode some well known and some not so well known but still fantastic trails and met some great people out on the trails, at our rest stops and also not forgetting some of the people in the online MTB communities that have contributed and helped out too.
