Ok, looking at doing a road route from Ullapool area up round the top of Scotland to Wick, with a diversion to Cape wrath (we will be on cross bikes).

Problem is trying to get a train to the start, no station at Ullapool, so nearest is Ardgay 😯 is Grave, but would be 6 hrs + from Blackridge (west lothian) anyone know of any alternatives that would get us up north a bit quicker?

Can’t help with the transport problem (train is bound to be quickest) but make sure to take the coastal Inverpollaidh road from Ullapool to Lochinver if you’re heading that way, amazing little road…

You can get a bus from Inverness to Ullapool that will take your bikes. See http://www.timdearmancoaches.co.uk/cyclebus.htm
The bus goes all the way to Lochinver and Durness, so you could start from somewhere along there.
