Anyone know if Snow road / Longsendale trail that links between Langsett and Woodhead Reservoir is a worthy ride. (This is just to the North of Cut Gate).

It's a decent enough link between Hadfield and the north end of Cut Gate. Mostly flat but there's a big climb to get above Woodhead Tunnel. There's a few hundred yards on the notorious Woodhead Pass road too before you reach Snow Road.

The Snow Road's fine going down, just a long, deep rutted, grassy landrover track, but almost impossible riding up. Rather than ride up the Woodhead, I tend to cut over from the Flouch to the disused railway line that runs up to Dunford Bridge then turn left and follow the road back up to the Woodhead where you go straight over and onto the Longdendale Trail. Slightly longer, but you won't be buzzed by 90mph traffic on the climb.

It's not great riding whatever way you go, but links Hadfield and Langsett quite conveniently.
