Can I run the above tyre on a mavic 721 rim that’s taped? I’ve seen advice that suggests I can but why do Maxxis sell ust tyres if you can run all of them ‘sans tubes’
Experiences would be much appreciated.

I’m running that combo fine. Went up with a track pimps and joes tibless strip.

Not done it myself, but I was told that non UST Maxxis tyres generally work really well tunelees.

EX721 and Ardent EXO fine.

There was talk over here in Oz of some bubbling under the surface in Maxxis, they were only going to accept warranty if you were using specific sealants (Joes I think)
