Anyone have a similar problem, I’ve googled it & it seems q a common fault.

Its an ipod touch (5 gen I think), loads of spare space, never dropped, scratched etc. 2 yrs old.

It stopped synching last week with a message something like ‘can’t synch due to data class services’. Everything else works fine, just the lack of synching.

So I swapped cables, uploaded new iTunes version, no change.

The only way I can synch now is to do a factory reset & restore everything.

Are they designed to fail after 2 years? anyone got an ideas if you can fix them, there’s nothing inside is there?

Have you tried a hard reset yet?
(Hold power and front button till apple symbol appears?)

thanks, yes that’s what I meant by factory reset, hold the 2 buttons down for 10 secs & back up from iTunes.

Its the only thing that work.

Well then you could try a ‘proper’ factory reset within Itunes next?
Little lost as a “hard reset”, won’t affect the contents of the player, only give it a proper on/off (unlike what the on/off button does)
