Ok I’ve had noisey disc for ages on one of my bikes, I keep cleaning the pads or replacing the pads when worn, scuff the discs up regularly too, but clearly I’m not doing it right!

Out of desperation for a trip to wales I bunged on some Shimano RT56 with the same pads that had been part of the noise combination. SILENCE!

OK they are only supposed to be used with resin pads but it was worth a try.

So why would the Shimano RT86 be so noisey? I have another set of RT86s on another bike and they have never been noisey.

Any suggestions? What is the best way to check the disc is cleaned properly?

Failing that maybe just run cheap RT56s!
