Wife’s away so it’s film night. Just settling down with my dinner and Nocturnal Animals on the telly.

Well that’s quite an opening! Not sure I’m quite as hungry now…..

It was a good film. Not as good or profound as it thinks it is though.

How profound does it think it is?

Well so far it’s very very good. And it’s beautifully shot.

Well in conclusion I will say I loved it. It’s relatively profound but I think Loddrik has a point. I would perhaps say that it was a good film but not as good or profound as it could have been. I think it could have been another 30 minutes longer and have spent that time developing Amy Adam’s character in particular her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal and her current life more fully.

It was beautifully shot though; the photography was sublime in places. The shot of Gyllenhaal sat on the side of the bath tub in the motel after his family are found was incredible.
