If there is no water in my College i.e. taps, toilets… Is there a law stating that they have to send us home?

EDIT: Mods can you it to Chat?

Certainly for the teachers it would be law to provide water, not sure about students as you’re there for your own benifit and not an employee.

The rules governing water/toilets etc is in the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations

Basically unless the outage is very limited the answer is yes.

quite right although HASAWA 1974 sect 3.1 deals with employers duties to those not in his employment

Encourage everyone to take a dump asap so conditions become insanitary.

Are you just looking for a reason to skive off? Man up and get gone if you don’t want to be there! Let someone who wants to be educated take your place 🙂
