Bought this second hand from the Manchester Cycle Exchange, Urmston, in ’88. Used it for a couple of months, and since then, it has been in other peoples’ garages/sheds until last night when I got it back.

I know virtually nothing about road bikes. Everything still works fine but it needs a good strip down, bearing replacement, bar tape and probably cables.

Don’t know whether to keep or sell…

    Any info appreciated, thanks.

it’s an old basic road bike, replacing more than the cables and bar-tape probably isn’t worth the effort, but tidy it up and use it as a runaround, certainly

I know two guys running old 531 Nigel Deans. Go on forever.

That one looks suspiciously like it would have front wheel / foot overlap, though.

Plenty of room for my size 10s to clear the wheel. Rides fine, although being in that position takes a little getting used to again.
Probably spend a few hours and maybe £20 on it.
    Thanks for your input.
