not a hotel but a fab B&B in a quiet spot, I can’t recommend the Betws Inn highly enough
It’s an old coaching inn that has been converted to a luxury B&B. They will do evening meals for you too if you’d prefer and the food is excellent. The couple who run it are really nice too

edit: That’s no use without comment is it? Stayed there last year. Really friendly, great breakfast and lovely rooms. I’d stay again for sure.

PYG is more a Victorian theme park, but a great experience. You get bollocked if you enter the dining room before they ring the bell and I was clipped round the ear for not telling them in advance my GF was vegetarian – not what you expect in a normal hotel!
