I’d advise you to randomly pick your favourite bike/trails and defend them to the death in every thread where it is vaguely relevant 🙂

I do love chips…. but then I am a daddy so know how I would feel if chips were chosen over me.

But then my dad never bought me that raleigh burner I wanted.

    Chips!

Hmm, not too sure with your opening gambit of not going into an instant rant about faulty bike parts or militant cycling strategies…good luck tho!

Marcus7, I rode my bike for a load of miles off road in the mud and crap and the chain got knackered, I got terrible chain suck and had to replce the chainrings and don’t get me started with the cheese like jockey wheels. Isn’t it all supposed to last for ever?

    Better?

😀 Hi – I mostly lurk now but am having a few dull days at work
For some background – search forums on Picolax, Beefheart, ‘wee in shoes’, owning with bombers and baby robin.

One of your first threads should be a ‘what tyres for…’ by the end of it you’ll be right in the swing of things

And with that in mind, lets establish his geographical whereabouts

Happyrider – when chomping on chips should they be

    a) covered in gravy
    b) covered in mushy peas
    c) all the above, with a pie, on a barm
    d) what are these substances you speak of? I am unaware of their existence

You could start a religion thread. They’re always fun and we’ve not had one for at least a week now. Or one about helmets.

You will receive a message from a member called “Hora” soon. He contacts all of our new members.

He will ask for your “a/s/l”.

Just so you know, that’s age/sex/location.

I’d advise entering “male” for the sex part. Definitely don’t enter “female” or “yes”.

Are you capable of independent thought, and have opinions based on fact and experience rather than what you read on the internet somewhere?

If so, you may find this a rather hostile environment.

    Good luck!

I think you’ll find that, if you answered c), then Wigan is your spiritual home. Whether you like it or not. You can live in denial about this, or make things easy on yourself and just accept it

Its more a state of mind than a location

Don’t listen to Mike. He’s kicking against being assimilated into the group. He won’t hold out for much longer

    Do you prefer to make decisions regarding the purchase of simple everyday items, like toothpaste or underpants;

    a) yourself?
    b) with input from a friend or family member?
    c) by asking a number of complete strangers what they would buy?

He’s right though. I thought people on here were ok until I googled it and found out they’re all middleclasswhineycockbags.

It would have to be A)

I’m meeting Hora for a pint, comparing lube was mentioned, assuming it’s chain related.

Wow quite the number of sub rules! The what tyres was a good search! Minefield! I’ll stay clear of that and leave it to you experienced tyre types.

Toothpaste, I’m all good, the missus get’s what’s on offer, making decisions… depends, what do you know? Independent thought… I’ll ask the missus.

Are panaracer xc pro any good?

Above all dont take it too seriously….some do and get VERY upset!. For this reason I dont post too much but i do find myself reading a lot of posts and have a habit of reading the most amusing/angry/always right/always wrong posters to remind me that we do indeed live in a funny old world. Oh and just because something is correct it does not follow that its RIGHT!

Public announcment: Owning to the global economic meltdown and the tightening funds, would all first time posters please provide their own petrol and matches for the inaugural flaming.

just kidding. [not kidding, and BBQ firelighters and some peat are not sufficient.]

And tyres are so “Pre London 2012” – Cycle lanes are the new tyres. 😀

    Oh, and Hi.

    Now we know you’re lying.

Hora refuses to use lube based on “religious and spritual beliefs”.

When someone has an opposing opinion to you on the internet, do you:

    1) Politely state that you disagree?
    2) Disagree and put forward your POV?
    3) Disagree strongly and argue your point of view?
    4) Weep initially, pace up and down, get your head together, drink something with a kick and break a few inexpensive household items?
    5) Weep uncontrollably whilst lambasting the opposing poster, threatening his family, his life and anyone he may have once met, try and establish his whereabouts and follow him for a number of days until you realise he is much bigger than you and you would never speak to anyone in real life the same way you do on an internet forum. Close account and log on to youporn.com to ‘de-stress’.

If 4 and 5 apply you will do well here…. So i’m told.
