Is “New Years day dinner” a ‘thing’? I had no idea.

Anyway, we’re having Chicken Kavara, I’m not reeeealy sure what it is, we stayed with some friends in Bulgaria a few years ago and had it there, it’s lovely – they post us over the packets of whatever it is and I add the rest.

Pizza and an expensive bottle of Sancerre bought after some confusion about pricing in the supermarket.

Got a big lump of beef in the fridge which this thread has just reminded me I need to take out so it can come up the room temp before cooking.

Rolled Sirloin, lots of roasted root vegetables and Yorkshire pudding, meringues and eclairs for desert.

Steak pie……just like almost every other household in Scotland. One of my fav traditions of the year.

We had roasties, with ham. And home made steak pie.

About to have some left over pie with chips.

Roast chicken dinner, gravy, parsnips, carrots and peas, roasties and more pigs in blankets

Followed up with sticky toffee pudding and ice cream

Lot the bbq so sausage, Rosti, beans and egg…

Irish stew with dumplings, washed down with Traquair beer then Benromach Organic.

I was forced to have one of these thanks to the nurse on the ward. It has to be said, this xmass and new year will definitely be one to forget.
