I’m looking for a new wheelset for my Tricross
Need to be reliable, robust and able to take a 35mm tyre
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks

Do they exist at such a low price?

Build your own or buy the parts and get the LBS to .

I have Shimano R500 wheels on my Tricross – good enough for some racing (you probably won’t win much!). They are v cheap and haven’t broken yet after 2 years of use. You will have to regrease the hubs at some point.

Running one pair tubeless which is, er, interesting as they burp pretty easily with just Stan’s tape in there… May be time for a rubber rim strip. This is with a 34mm tyre.

The wheels may have a rider weight limit, so if you are a much ‘sturdier’ build or like doing 6 foot drops you’ll probably hurt yourself.

Planet x CX model which I think is the a57 or the lower end shimano stuff is reasonable. Superstarcomponents might have something. I have their 29er wheels non my commuter.

    Look on merlin:

Superstar if you know how to check and trim up the wheels, as it seems their build quality varies a bit.

I got a set of Mavic Aksium from OnOne for £140 around a year ago.

    Thanks
    tinribz: I can’t build them myself cos I’m ham-fisted
pid: The R500 sounds good but I weigh 90 kg

It really is quite easy to build yourself, just lace them up loosely following Sheldon Browns guide and get a shop to true them.

Failing that, Tiagra hubs and Mavic Open Sport?
