after a set of wheels for the tandem, ridden by either combined weight of 19 st or 13st depending on whther wife or child is on back. Want to put a disc on the front and leave the option of a disc on the rear a possibility if i think its needed. Def need a new front wheel. These seem cheap and strong fro the price and wil do both rima dn disc brakes

Are these wheels suitable for a tandem?

you probably need to check the wideth of the dropouts on the back of the tandem, they are normally 10mm wider than normal and therefore need a wider hub which as not normally standard makes it more expensive. Normal tandem rear wheels for mtbing have lots of spokes. JD tandems buildt me one cost about £200 for the rear
