Hello, just taken delivery of a Maxxis Minion DHF (wire bead, single ply) to go tubeless on a Stans Flow rim. I was actually expecting a folding one but seems I may have been mistaken when ordering.

Question is, will the wire bead be any harder to inflate tubeless than a folding and any other reason for me to keep it or change for a folder?

AFAIK both wireless and folding should be fine tubeless. Only negatives are that wire bead is heavier, and you can’t fold the tyres to store them (or post them).

As with all non-UST tyres it may benefit from being inflated with a tube in overnight, and using washing up liquid solution for the first inflate etc.
