I’m a massive fan of longer travel steel hard tails and have wanted an Alpine since I first saw one.

A mix of wide bars, short stem, skinny seatpost, 26″ wheels, Bombers, 1×10 + expander, I think I’ve got the best of most recent developments* plus a bike that’s made me grin from ear to ear on the 1.5 rides so far**

*dropper awaiting a new cable

Do you live in Hawaii?
Do you like ColdPlay that much?
How long are the chain stays?
& are you going to trim the fork head tube, it looks a bit lively around the headset.

I live in Thailand, looks like a bandstand but’s actually a patio / BBQ area. Fantastic for outdoor eating in the rainy season.

I really disliked Coldplay. I chose my forum name years ago when all this were red and beige and Coldplay were getting into Make Poverty History campaigns.

The steerer tube only has 2x1cm spacers. It looks much more in the photos. I don’t think I’ll trim it as I see some Pikes in my future and the Bombers can only go up in value. Amazing forks and they’re outlasting all those straight steerer frames.

The chain was new before this ride. It’s dusty. Don’t hate me because you can’t remember what dust is 🙂

Bar end plugs?

Are those black spokes on the back and silver on the front?

I always liked those frames in that purple too – did they make them for tapered forks?

Need to buy some plugs as the regular HOPE ones don’t seem to fit into the Renthal Fatbar.
