My 2005 Fox Float R’s need a service and new stanchions, quoted £220 by TFTuned.

Can get 2009 Rockshox Revelation 426 Dual Air Poploc for £320.

At the end of the day, £100 is £100, but is it false economy?

    What would you do?

Or is there a third way?

I would get the RockShox as you have done very well for for Foxs to last that long, and the Revs are very very good forks. On-one are selling off a whole load of RockShox cheap at the moment.

Also are you sure you need a Revelation? as the Rebas are lighter and will more than likely have enough travel for you.

Well they’re for an orange p7, and I think I need a 130mm fork minimum, plus I reckon the revs just suit the bike better than the reba’s – more of a ‘Trail’ fork, whatever that means….

Sort of. At that time I thought it was just a service for £80, and based on answers then I went for that, but have now found out I need stanchions, which makes it £220 vs £320, instead of £80 vs £320.
