I’ve got a Shimano Acera that came on my 07 Commencal Combi which is going on my wife’s bike. It was used on the Commencal as a bottom pull but I can’t work out if it’s dual pull because the Merlin is set up for top pull. Is there any way I can tell because beyond “acera” I can’t find any markings.

If it is dual pull the cable will leave the clamp the same direction as before and then wrap around a cam containing a groove so it can head in the opposite direction.

There was a hole I shoved the cable through. It’s not pretty but it works.
