…I’m after a bit of advise please Singletrackers. I’ve just got a warranty replacement Monarch rear shock after the original lost most of it’s damping abilities. I’ve been out on two short rides (total of about 4 hours) and there is oil on the shaft. I’d wiped it off after the first ride, but the is a reasonable amount on there again. I know that after servicing forks and shocks that it is not uncommon for there to be a bit of moisture. But would expect it not to still be doing it. I’m slightly concerned as the original shock did this before going tits up and I’m off to the Alps in 10 days!

So, is this oil likely to be just a bit of excess in the air can from it was build, or is it something to worry about.

    Many thanks

Normal. Had two debonairs and both did the same, will last about 10 rides then stop.
