Thinking of ordering some deore M486 brakes but the rear hose is too short. I have a length of hose off some knackered elixirs, will I be able to use this with shimano fittings?

Also can I re-use the fittings off the new brake or do I need to buy some new ones and if so are:

    these

    the ones I need?

Buy new inserts. The ones in the link are fine. No idea about your spare hose though

Elixirs use dot fluid, shimanos use mineral oil I’d avoid trying to reuse the elixir hose or you may have cross contamination, do you know how hard this is to type with 2bottles of wine in yer system.

    Superstar hose works well.

Recommend hope universal kit (as it has reusable fittings and split olives)
