Thinking of upgrading my road bike in the new year. Had decided to go with the Canyon Ultimate CF 9, sub 16 lbs, full ultegra, decent wheels, for 2k.

But is there anything better out there for similar money? I’d love to build my own from parts, but by the time you’ve forked out on the frameset its barely worthwhile.

Giant TCR = pure naughtiness

That Canyon will be very very difficult to beat spec wise for less than £2k, even 2013 sale bikes from the big players won’t touch it. If you’re happy with the potential hassle that comes with direct sales then that bike is a no brainer.

Considering the same bike myself. Long wait time though…
