due to accident with orange juice & laptop, other half is desperate for a quick replacement, the last one ran vista had a 17″ screen, ran for 8yrs with no problem & cost around £500, I realise things have moved on at a pace so real world help would be gratefully received, what not to buy as well as what to buy recommendation will be accepted.

I have a Lenovo Z50-70 on order from ebuyer. £370 for full hd screen, i3, 4MB, 1 TB. I’ll be adding 8MB once I get it, and if I need it faster still in the long run I’ll stick an SSD in place of the DVD, or a hybrid HD.
