  • New Desktop pc or all in one, what's best for £500?

8 year old Dell tower pc has been playing up for ages, not been right since a Windows 10 ‘upgrade’ a while ago and now keeps turning itself off whilst in use and not back on easily so time for something else…
Mrs uses for some work stuff and youngest for homework, general browsing etc, not gaming, need Microsoft office on it, so nothing too poncey just something reasonably quick that will last a few years. Monitor, printer etc are still okay. What’s good out there and where from at the moment? Haven’t set a budget, maybe upto £500? Cheers

I’d get a laptop so it has more utility and then you can plug in your existing monitor as a second screen as and when you need to.

Why pay for portability when you don’t need it. Plus laptops i7s are less powerful than desktop i3s.

All in one’s are limiting and difficult to repair.

Go for a standard desktop i3 6th or 7th gen from a good online shop then go buy a monitor from Currys.

Something from Dell Outlet would be my recommendation.

A laptop might be more flexible but you’ll get much more bang for your buck with a desktop…

Good advice. Machines there suitable for you for £250. Not sure what screen you’ve got but perhaps spend £100-150 on something in 27″ or just keep what you’ve got.
